Closure

Your memory runs hot and relevant across mine
for now
I'll be loyal to every detail for a time
Until I start to forget the curvature of your face,
the nuance of your scent
The sound of your voice won't haunt me
and the shape of your body will seem stupid in retrospect
Your avoidance will be the only thing I keep,
correctly placed within the domain of no one's fault
That's the important part, you see
Because contrary to popular belief,
the fact that someone didn't want you
is closure.
