Simplicity.
We all search for it in the most complex of places.
That moment when everything else goes away and there is only you.
Perfect oblivion.
I find it here.
Here, in the least likely of places.
Here where tempers and egos run rampant.
Where sweat hangs in the air like a fog.
Shame and pride make a beautiful mixture to create stronger human beings.
I don't so much stand as hover over the mat.
Never quite touching the ground for all the singularity of feeling.
Elegance makes way for the primitive.
Eloquence is no matter here.
Masks and preconceived notions slough off like burned skin.
There is no hiding out here in the open.
How hard you fight determines who you are on a base level.
Beyond culture, beyond society,
where you started,
where you will end.
There is only you and what you have been waiting for.
Simplicity.
Fight poetry. I'm a fan. New genre, maybe? All athletes shall be required to write five lines of poetry per week...
